Meet the team

Nichelle has been a committed public servant for over 20 years. She started her career as a Fingerprint Technician in the Fingerprint Unit of the Ministry of Labour and Social Security. She was later promoted to Senior Fingerprint Technician and managed the Unit. In 2011 she joined the Protective Security Unit in the Ministry of National Security as a Safety and Security Inspector. In 2017 she joined the Firearm Licensing Authority as Firearm Examination Manager. In 2019 Nichelle became the Manager, Inspections and Monitoring at the Police Civilian Oversight Authority. Nichelle holds a bachelor’s degree with a double major in Public Administration along with Labour and Employment Relations. She is currently pursuing her master’s degree in National Security and Strategic Management at the University of the West Indies, Mona. Nichelle earned her PSP Certification and joined the ASIS International family of security professionals in 2015 and later earned the prestigious CPP Certification in November 2021. Since then, she has been an active member of the ASIS Jamaica Chapter and has provided voluntary services in various capacities. On the 27th of March, 2022 Nichelle passed the PCI certification exam and in so doing created history. She is the first female to achieve Triple Certification in Jamaica. As a staunch advocate for voluntarism, she is committed to serving whenever called upon in whatever capacity she is suited.
Selbourne is currently a director of the company E-FAST (Emergency First Aid & Safety Training). He is a retired Warrant Officer Class 2 of the Jamaica Defence Force where he gave exemplary service for 27 years and 9 months. While at the JDF he was awarded the following medals: Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal Medal of Honour for Long Service and Good Conduct First Bar to the Medal of Honour for Long Service and Good Conduct Selbourne joined ASIS International in December of 2020. He immediately joined the CPP study course offered by the ASIS International Jamaica chapter, which ran from January to May 2021 and was Board Certified as a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) in June 2021. Since that time, he has participated as an instructor in study courses run locally and regionally by our sister chapters. He has recently earned the newly promoted ESRM certificate from ASIS International and on December 2021, he sat and successfully passed the PSP examination. He is an ardent Seventh Day Adventist Christian whose philosophy is “With Christ all things are possible.” He is married to Vanessa and they have two adult children, Adam and Kayla. He serves as a Justice of the Peace for the parish of St. Ann.
Basil is a graduate of the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, United Kingdom. He served in the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) as an Army Officer in the Infantry, Military Police and Military Intelligence Unit and during his eleven (11) years of service was awarded the Medal of Honour, General Service for his work with US Army Intelligence during the Caribbean Peacekeeping Operations in Grenada in 1983-84. Following his retirement from the JDF in 1988, he joined Atlas Protection (Ocho Rios) Limited as its Regional Manager and served as Managing Director from 1991 to 2014. In 1999 Capt. Bewry received a Diploma in Forensic Psychophysiology from the world renown Backster School of Lie Detection in San Diego, California and successfully completed the John E. Reid & Associates’ Course in Advanced Interviewing and Interrogation Techniques in 2001. As a result of the growing demand for his investigative skills and success in combatting white-collar crime, he established Forensic Polygraph Services in 2002. He has to-date administered over 9,000 polygraph tests. Capt. Bewry has been a member of ASIS International since 2005 and is the 2020 winner of the E. J. Criscuoli Jr., CPP Volunteer Leadership Award. He is also a triple certificant having earned the Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Professional Certified Investigator (PCI) and Physical Security Professional (PSP) designations. He is the Chairman of the Wolmer’s Preparatory School, a Director of the Wolmer’s Trust Schools’ Board of Management, an Associate Member of the American Polygraph Association, a Founding Member of the Jamaica Polygraph Association and a Member of the Pali Walking Group. He is married with 4 children and lists his hobbies as reading, playing dominoes, sudoku and meeting interesting people.
Antoinette is the Regional Agricultural Services and Facilities Manager at Nestle Jamaica with overall responsibility for Security. She has been a member of ASIS International for 2 years but has 20 years’ experience locally and regionally. Her responsibilities have included the implementation and certification of ISO Management Systems for Energy, Environment, Security, Risk, Quality and Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems, Environmental Engineering Management and Industrial Hygiene. Antoinette has a BSc. (Hons) in Biotechnology & Zoology, an MSc in Natural Resources Management and an MSc in Occupational & Environmental Health and Safety. Additionally, she is a certified Risk Manager and a Quality, Environmental and Safety Systems Auditor.
Warren is a trusted advisor in the security and risk management industry with over 25 years of experience in the Financial Services, Construction, Casino, Gaming & Hospitality sub-sectors. He also has the distinction of serving as a member on the prestigious ASIS International Awards Committee and as a member of the steering committee of the Security Services Community. He successfully passed the exams to be certified as a Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP) and Professional Certified Investigator (PCI) to become one of only approximately 200 individuals globally to have earned the coveted triple certification. Warren volunteers as a mentor within the ASIS Mentorship program in both Jamaica and Canada and takes pride in providing guidance to those wishing to chart their path in the industry. Outside of ASIS, Warren volunteers his time in various Diversity, Equity & Inclusion initiatives as well as other programs targeting Young Professionals and Newcomers transitioning from other industries, cultures, and countries.
Andrew is employed by J Wray and Nephew, a Gruppo Campari company as a Senior Environment Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist assigned to the New Yarmouth Estate Distillery. Here he serves as the resource person for EHS, advising management and staff to ensure compliance with the various EHS regulations and procedures. He previously worked in the Loss Prevention Department at J Wray and Nephew where he was part of the team responsible for brand, personnel, and physical security and emergency response. He has also worked as an operations and intelligence supervisor with the Jamaica Customs Contraband Enforcement Team where he led teams charged with interdicting narcotics, arms/ammunition, and other contraband at the island’s ports of entry. Major Lamb has served as an officer in the Jamaica Defence Force, and held various appointments in the Third, Sixth, and Support Battalions of The Jamaica Regiment (National Reserve) and as a staff officer at Jamaica National Reserve Brigade Headquarters. He has participated in military training exercises in Puerto Rico and the United Kingdom. Andrew is a graduate of the Buckinghamshire New University in the United Kingdom and holds a Master of Science Degree in Business Continuity, Security and Emergency Management. He is a certified Emergency Medical Technician; holds certifications as both a Business Resilience Manager and Auditor; and is a (ProBoard) certified Industrial Firefighter and Fire Brigade Leader. He has completed the John E Reid Basic and Advanced Courses, several Port and Physical Security, Investigation, Project Management, Environmental, and health and safety courses. Maj LAMB has also completed military professional development courses at the Canadian Army Command and Staff College, and the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom; he is currently a student at the Canadian Joint Command and Staff Course.
John attended Munro College before studying at the University of the West Indies (UWI) where he got his degree in Natural Sciences in 1980. He returned to Munro to teach biology and agricultural science for one year and joined the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) from 1981-1990, attaining the rank of Captain. During this time he returned to UWI to do a two year post graduate diploma which he completed in 1988. On retiring from the JDF he worked with GraceKennedy Ltd at the Kingston Container Terminal at Port Bustamante for ten years, firstly as Security and Safety Manager for five years and then as Quality and Training Manager. During this time he attended Barry University where he received his MBA, Delta Mu Delta, in 1995. He joined the Jamaica Broilers Group in May 2000 where he continues to serve as the Group Security Executive. He has served as Vice Chairman and Chairman for the ASIS Jamaica chapter on a number of occasions. John is Jamaica's first triple certificant, having attained all three ASIS certifications - the Certified Protection Professional (CPP), the Physical Security Professional (PSP) and the Professional Certified Investigator (PCI). He has attended a number of professional development courses and has made security and safety presentations both locally and overseas. He is a Certified Trainer with the Private Security and Regulatory Authority. His hobbies include cycling and photography. John is married with four children.
Oswald is currently a Regional Operations Manager with the Jamaica Public Service and is also a Registered Certified Security Instructor with over 25 years in the utility and security industries. He currently serves the Jamaica Combined Cadet Force as Commanding Officer for the Second Battalion with responsibilities for Strategic Leadership. He is a Professional Engineer and a member of the Jamaica Institution of Engineers as well as the Association of Energy Engineers, Jamaica Chapter He is currently the Chairman of the Board of Governors for the Marlie Mount Primary and Infant School, Vice President of the JPSCo Managers’ Association and Executive Associate Member of the Jamaica Officer’s Club. Oswald received his education from the University of Technology (Jamaica) and Florida International University (USA). He holds the following qualifications, a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, a MBA in International Business, majoring in Logistic and finance, a Masters’ and a Doctoral Degree in Leadership & Ministry. His current academic interest is in the field of Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and is also an adjunct lecturer in that field at the Heart College of Construction in Portmore St. Catherine. He holds the following certifications: Level IV (Assessor) Certificate from the HEART TRUST NSTA, Certification in Training Session Planning & Delivery from the Vocational Development Institute and a Professional Trainer’s Certificate of Competency (Train the Trainer) from the Delaware State University. Lt.Col. Smiley is also certified in Project Management by the Project Management Global Institute (Jamaica). Lt.Col. Smiley is a Justice of the Peace for the Parish of St. Catherine.
Carlos is a former member of the Jamaica Defence Force who is now employed to Ports Management and Security Ltd a subsidiary of the Port Authority of Jamaica. He is the immediate past chairman of the Jamaica Chapter and is an item writer for ASIS International. He has served as secretary and vice chairman and newsletter editor for the Chapter. He is a graduate of the Caribbean Maritime University security program and a certified Port Facility Security Officer (IMO) Carlos is also a contributor on diverse topics to the Jamaica Gleaner and believes that perseverance, dedication and discipline are the keys to success.
Tania is a dedicated advocate for constant staff training. A manager at Guardsman Alarms, she joined the firm in 2004 as an entry-level Central Station Operator and has worked her way through the ranks over the years. She continues to confirm her commitment to the security industry through staff and personal professional development training. She was also instrumental in developing a training program for new entrants joining the Central Station team and participated in training exercises for the operations team. With almost 18 years of experience in the industrial security field, she attained two international certifications from ASIS International: Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and Physical Security Professional (PSP). Tania Rhoden is the first female in Jamaica to attain the CPP designation. She is a holder of an Associate Degree in Computing and Management, certificates in Customer Service, Radio Use, Supervisory Management and Security Trainer. Prior to joining the security industry, she worked in the medical field serving in the capacity of a practical nurse for nine years after which she transitioned to the corporate world in 2002. Aside from being a security professional, Tania Rhoden is also a soap artisan and the owner of a skincare business. During her downtime, she can be found searching the internet for new information related to both her professional and personal aspirations. She lives by her personal motto “I am here to be awesome, not average”
Clive is a veteran of the Jamaica Defence Force, having served thirty years. He attained the rank of Warrant Officer Class 2 upon retirement from the regular force. He has held many different appointments; Signals Warrant Officer, Company Sergeant Major, Location Administrator for the ‘Lift Up Jamaica’ project at Falmouth and Permanent Staff Instructor to the Jamaica National Reserve. Clive believes in continuous learning and has enrolled on numerous developmental courses; UWI Open Campus Supervisory Management, Project Management, Event Management, Introduction to Counselling, Dispute Resolution (DRF), Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO) and Assessor’s Course Level 4 (NTVET). His military decorations are HRH. Queen Elizabeth 2 Diamond Jubilee Medal, Medal of Honor for Long Service and Good Conduct, and Medal of Honor for Meritorious Service. He is currently in transition mode to be a member of the Jamaica Defence Force National Reserve (JNR). With his keen interest in security, Clive is very interested in industrial security and hopes to improve himself personally and professionally in the discipline. He decided to become a member of ASIS International in 2019 after having supported the Chapter by attending more than one Annual Awards Banquet.
Vivion graduated from the Mannings High School in 2002, after which he joined the National Youth Service. Upon completing his training, he was placed at the Rural Agriculture Development Authority office in St. Thomas as an assistant field agent before being reassigned to the Jamaica Agricultural Society in Morant Bay. He was a part of the team that successfully planned and executed the Morant Bay Agricultural Show in 2008. Later that same year, he was employed by Atlas Protection Limited as a Secretary. His hard work and diligence resulted in him being promoted in quick succession. In 2011, he was promoted to Operation Supervisor (Scheduling). In 2013, Vivion was promoted to Client Satisfaction Manager. After receiving training as a Private Investigator later that same year by HYTECH, investigations became a part of his core duties. In 2015, he was Promoted to Client Relations Manager/Assistant Operations Manager. In 2016, was trained in The Reid Technique of Investigative Interviewing & Positive Persuasion and Hiring the Best Applicant - Interviewing Techniques and Strategies. He also successfully sat the PSP examination later that year. Vivion also holds a level two Certificate in Industrial Security from the HEART Trust NTA. In 2019, Vivion was promoted to Senior Operations Manager (East Region) for Guarding Services. That same year he was given his instrument of office to serve as a Justice of the Peace in Kingston. He has also certified himself in the area of Transformational Leadership, Criminology, Criminology-Offender Profiling and Forensic Psychology. He is a Relationship Coach and Motivational Speaker.
Jason is a former law enforcement officer with 17 rewarding years’ experience in law enforcement. "Do what you can with all you have, wherever you are” is a famous quote by Theodore Roosevelt. It was the mantra that Jason adopted when he served in the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) and the Bermuda Police Service (BPS) in areas of criminal investigation, serious and organised crime investigation, and intelligence. Being a professional, committed, and dedicated officer, he was the recipient of several commendations and awards throughout his service. Jason has earned himself an M.Sc. in Security Administration and Management from the Caribbean Maritime University in Jamaica, and a BA. in Applied Investigation from the University of Sunderland in the United Kingdom. With his experience and background in investigating organised crime and knowing the significant threat that it poses to enterprises, Jason has found a new home in corporate security. Safe communities build safe societies and Jason gives back to his community by promoting this concept. He volunteers his time by giving neighborhood watch talks on crime prevention and motivational speeches to young adults. He enjoys photography, reading and nature walks.
Aldean is a Chartered Business Administrator who is employed by Forensic Polygraph Services since March 1, 2022, as Managing Director. She is a Polygraph Examiner and Court Appointed Mediator assigned to the Parish Court. She holds a Diploma in Business Administration and has been awarded other professional qualifications from the University of the West Indies Open Campus, John E. Reid & Associates, National Management Institute (MIND), National Police College of Jamaica, and other bodies. She has steered a career in the field of investigations having served in numerous roles as well as at the management level from 2007-2022 at the Firearm Licensing Authority. Aldean sits on the Board of the Kiwanis Club of Central Portmore and serves as Director of the Membership Growth and Retention Committee. She has represented the club at two international conventions as a delegate in the United States of America in Indianapolis and Ottawa, Canada in the years 2015 and 2017 respectively, where those decisions impacted children’s lives worldwide positively. Aldean is a sub-committee member of the premier group, Women In Security (WIS), who are dedicated to advancing the leadership and professional development of women in the field. She serves as Sunday School Teacher and Praise and Worship Leader at the Portmore Gospel Chapel Church, which is a Christian movement assembly geared towards training youths on biblical principles and conflict resolution. She enjoys sight-seeing, playing dominoes, painting, vocalizing, traveling, cooking, and reading, just to name a few. She also enjoys her equally important role as a fiancée and nurturing her newly found drive for keeping an active healthy lifestyle exercising and going on scheduled 5ks. Aldean endorses the words of the Late Martin Luther King Jr. “It’s the quality, not the longevity, of one’s life that’s important.”
Shanna has extensive and progressive electronic security knowledge and experience spanning over 18 years with the Guardsman Group. Shanna previously held roles such as Technical Manager and Technical Quality Assurance Manager with Guardsman Communications. She is the sharp minded, project-oriented person who has spearheaded all the major electronic security projects along with her technical team. Shanna has contributed to the review and implementation of the company’s process for efficiency and cost effectiveness. She constantly ensures that her team members are trained in the various products and services for the growth and relevance of the organization. Shanna is certified and trained in Project Management, Human Resources Management, Electronics and Telecommunication and Supervisory Management. Shanna has the ASIS International designations of Physical Security Professional (PSP) and Certified Protection Professional (CPP). She is keen on volunteerism and was the Chairperson of the Staff Welfare Committee at the St. Andrew High School for girls for two years and currently serves as the Chairperson for Women in Security ASIS - Jamaica Chapter since 2022. She has been a board member for Liberty Learning Centre since 2012. Shanna is married with two children.
